Visit Belgium, Germany, and France with a focus on the scenic European Alpine Region and Switzerland on this exciting vacation. Begin in London with a full day to discover the city's landmarks. Next, travel to France by ferry and join your motorcoach for the trip to the Belgian capital of Brussels. Here you'll enjoy an orientation tour before continuing into Germany to experience Heidelberg and the delightful scenery of the Black Forest, Lake Titisee, and the mighty Rhine Falls. On to Vaduz, capital of the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein, and then the Lake Lucerne area to visit Lucerne and to admire the surrounding mighty Alpine peaks. A scenic mountain drive takes you over Brunig Pass and through Brienz, stopping in Interlaken and Gruyere before arriving on the shores of Lake Geneva for a guided visit of Chillon Castle. From Lausanne, cross into France and travel through Burgundy with a stop in pretty Beaune. Reach Paris and see the main attractions with a Local Guide. Day 3LondonA full day to savor our rich program of optional activities: take a panoramic tour of London's landmarks, visit the Tower of London, or choose an excursion to Windsor Castle. Tonight maybe a leisurely cruise on the River Thames? (B)
Day 4LONDON-BRUSSELS, BELGIUMLeave London in the early morning and head through the lush English countryside to the Channel port, where you board your ferry for the Continent. Here your Tour Director and comfortable coach wait to take you to Brussels for an overnight. (B)
Day 5BRUSSELS-BLACK FOREST AREA, GERMANYBrussels, the modern center of the European Union, still has Old-World charm. Enjoy the sights, including the Grand'Place and the Mannekin Pis, on your morning city orientation. Later, travel south via Heidelberg for a stop, then through the delightful scenery of the Black Forest for an overnight. (B,D)
Day 6BLACK FOREST-LAKE TITISEE-RHINE FALLS-LIECHTENSTEIN-LAKE LUCERNE, SWITZERLANDToday's itinerary is studded with quite a few highlights. Travel into the heart of the Black Forest for a stop to admire the small but lovely Lake Titisee. Further south into Switzerland to see the mighty Rhine Falls. Next, eastwards into the tiny but hugely wealthy Principality of Liechtenstein for a stop in its capital, Vaduz. By evening you'll be in the Lake Lucerne area for two overnights. (B,D)
Day 7LucerneYour visit takes in the impressive city walls, a covered wooden bridge, ornate patrician houses lining cobblestone streets, and the Lion Monument. Don't miss the boat trip on the fjord-like lake. A grand selection of optional activities completes the day: a cable car ride to the 10,000-foot summit of Mount Titlis, a typical folklore evening, and, of course, time to shop for that very Swiss watch. Day 8LAKE LUCERNE-INTERLAKEN-LAUSANNEStart the day by driving over the scenic Brunig Pass to Brienz and its sparkling lake. After some sightseeing in beautiful Interlaken, continue to Gruyere for a stop. On to Lake Geneva for a guided visit of Chillon Castle right on its shores. Overnight in Lausanne. (B,D)
Day 9LAUSANNE-PARIS, FRANCETravel through Burgundy to pretty Beaune. Then on the expressway northwards to Paris. Tonight's optional cabaret show is a must. (B)
Day 10ParisIncluded sightseeing with a local expert of many of the best-known Parisian sights: La Sorbonne, Arc de Triomphe, Opera, Madeleine, the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramid near the Louvre, the Invalides, and Champs Elysees. Optional excursions are also available to the Palace and Gardens of Versailles and, to celebrate the success of your tour, a French farewell dinner might be just the ticket. (B)
